I visited this morning for some great finds! Our list was pretty small this year as I collected much of what we needed for the fall throughout the Spring and Summer, that being said I still took home two giant bags of clothing outerwear and a few items for Christmas!

Check out my Live Videos from the sale this morning (below)! The first one got cut off, just click over to the second for the continuation (be patient or feel free to skip the first 2 minutes, it took a minute to get the feed up)!

Check out this awesome Panorama showing the whole sales floor! There is so much awesome stuff out! Even if you don't need clothing - you literally could do ALL of your Christmas/Holiday Shopping at once!

I'm not one to shop 1/2 off sales - usually because I spend too much during the Pre-sale BUT there was SO much at this sale I think I may actually go back Sunday morning and check for some stuff we can stash away for future seasons.

Some of the infant Girls' items!

Loads and Loads of BOOKS! I dropped a bunch of our baby books for sale this weekend and purchased some older kids books this morning to start to change out collection since the kids are getting bigger (wash!) - See my unbagging video for what I found!

New this sale!!! JBF has expanded their sales floor by adding a HUGE outdoor tent for large scare items - strollers, cribs, pack n plays, bouncers, bikes, slides and MUCH more. Do not miss this! The door to enter the tent is at the back right of the indoor sales room.

Boys' clothing!

JBF stocks NEW unopened Melissa and Doug Toys and best of all they're all marked 25% off retail! These are awesome for doing some early Holiday shopping!

Costumes Galore!! So many they don't even all fit in the photo!

Check our my Haul!!! So much awesome Stuff! To Enter to win Disney LIVE! tickets watch our "unbagging" video above and make a guess as too how much I spent! Every one who comments gets an entry and the person who is the closest gets 10 entries!

Turn Clutter into Cash with JBF!

Consign and Shop with Just Between Friends!

Consign! Turn your full closets into Cash!

Consigning is the EASIEST way to turn your unused kids toys, clothing and gear into Cash! Just register, prepare and price your items, and then drop them at the sale. You then earn 60% of their sales, or up to 75% if they help out at the sale, less a $10 consignor fee, which can also be waived if they are helping out at the sale! There is no need to meet buyers, no posting individual items on yard sale websites, and no haggling on prices. You get access to their FREE online tagging and barcode system to price and tag your items. Finally, any unsold items may be picked up by you or will be appropriately distributed to various Lehigh Valley Non-Profit groups through the Donate.Local.Simple program, a great local organization that helps families find uses for their unused clothing and household items.

Free Consignor Training and Tonight's Consignor 101 PJ Party!

JBF is unique in that they offer a FREEconsignor training program. Once you register you will receive a series of emails that walk you through the step-by-step process of how to consign (with videos and pictures!). They also host an active consignor Facebook group that is really helpful too! RSVP for their Consignor 101 PJ Party TONIGHT, join in the fun from the comfort of your home to ask questions and learn about the consignment process!

Maximize Your Sales!

1. Tag large ticket items first!  Strollers, baby gear, play equipment and other large things sell very well at the sale and they're easy to tag and sort. Plus having these items set aside makes it easy to begin filtering through your smaller items.
2. Inspect! Check for stains, signs on wear and other imperfections. Shoppers will pay more and buy more often when things look new. Follow Just Between Friends on Facebook for more great tips.
3. Get Organized. Sort your items prior to tagging. JBF's tagging system allows to bulk input so if you are entering items that are all the same size or category entering your tags will take a fraction of the time because their system will automatically apply the same category and size to each item!

LVFGS does Disney: Disney Savings Tips!

We just began planning a surprise (shhhhh!) trip to Disney World next year with the help of Dana from Small Earth Travel. Dana and I recently chatted about some great ways to save money for a Disney trip and I was shocked by these three super easy ways which we will definitely be taking advantage of!

$200 in FREE money for your trip!

The first is offered by Chase Visa. They have an exclusive offer available only via invitation that allows new applicants to apply for the card.  New approved applicants receive a $200 statement credit  more once you spend $500 on the card within 3 months of it opening. We can easily use the card for groceries in our household for 3 months to reach that goal!

Read more details about terms here. There is no restriction on where you spend your $500 nor a time limit on the redemption of your gift card. This offer is limited and only available to 10 applicants - Apply now as these offers can be hard to come by and won't last long!

Whip out that Target Red Card! I mean you use it for everything else anyways right?! Target honors their 5% savings offer when you purchase Disney Gift Cards at Target. Once you book your vacation you you can use your discounted Disney gift cards to pay off the balance of your trip in your My Disney Experience Account.

Use a travel agent! Disney Travel agents (despite common opinion) don't cost the traveler a dime! You get to use their extensive knowledge of the parks, travel patterns, dining options, and much more at no cost to you. Dana from Small Earth Travel will be booking our itinerary, dining reservations, character meets and assisting us with every detail of the trip. Most importantly they have access to Disney discounts that can be retroactively applied to your trip even after it is booked, should any come up that match your travel plans.
SAVE BIG!
Small Earth Travel is currently working on a tremendous discount for families to take advantage of if they travel from March, 10-16 2017. Click here for more information on this discount and how to take advantage of it.

Weekend Guide: August 19-22

August 19-22

Summer is coming to a close quickly but this weekend still is bursting with opportunities to enjoy all the Lehigh Valley has to offer.

You'd think Bethlehem might be in a haze after hosting Muskiest for the past two weeks, but nope! They jump right into VegFest this Saturday  (8/20) and this isn't just for vegans/vegetarians.  The festival has delicious food, demonstrations, vendors, pet rescues and more. Click here for more information on the festival hours and details.

Catch some rides this weekend at the Lehigh Valley Health Network Muhlenberg Summer Festival. Parking is free and so is admission. Enjoy children's activities, craft exhibits, nightly live music, vendors, Bingo, Bake Sale and more. More information on hours and activities can be found here.

The Roasting Ears of Corn Festival is this Saturday and Sunday at The Museum of Indian Culture. Enjoy Native American Dancing, food, art and more. Click here for information on hours and admission.

Looking for a creative way to cool off without breaking the bank! Check out our list of creeks, streams and lakes. We have more natural water available to us than many people realize! Its fun (most are free!) and makes a great family outing!

This Family Festival features zip lining, a ropes course, Swimming Live Music and optional Bike Courses, 5K and 10K trail runs and Food! Families can participate in the fun by buying a "Fesif Only" pass which grants access to zip lining, rope climbing, swimming and a BBQ lunch! Adventures can check our their bike rides or one of the runs! More information here Day of registration is available!

The Best Day Trip You've Never Heard of

I saw some local moms chatting about this place a few months back and even though I'm not generally excited by lakes (they usually smell, and have gross stuff in the water) I put it on our list ofplaces to check out this summer. We decided to pack up one morning and make the trip to find out what this place is all about. With packed lunches, towels, sand toys, towels and plenty of water we were on our way.  The trip had the (slightly simplified) makings of a full on beach vacation with everything I packed up for the day.  The kids were excited and off we went.

Depending on where you're located in or around the Lehigh Valley theres a number of ways to travel here. We opted to take 476 up to the Leighton Exit (Route 209). Its an easy drive, and once you are off the highway its just a short additional 10-15 minutes through the adorable town of Jim Thorpe before you arrive at Mauch Chunk Lake Park. From our location it was just a 39 minute ride!

The Beach area hosts a number of amenities including a full service snack bar with ice cream, Italian ice, snacks, hot foods and more. Bring cash to use at the snack bar if you are thinking of grabbing a snack. In addition is a shaded pavilion with picnic tables, bathrooms, changing areas and water fountains to refill your water bottles with if needed.

We arrived as the park opened up for the day (11AM) and you could see it had been freshly combed and there was no debris or garbage present. The beach is covered in a brownish sand which is not super deep and makes installing a beach umbrella pretty tough (we tried!) The sand is pretty great though for sand castles! I should also note that the water was beautifully clear, had no icky things to climb through before reaching the water and there was no stinky lake smell (I have a super sensitive nose!)

The water was lovely and warm and my kids didn't need any convincing to jump right in and try it out. They we're convinced we were at the beach ;), I didn't try to argue with them.

I highly recommend making a trip of to this adorable little spot. Its well worth the trip and budget friendly too. A family of 5 can easily make the trip for under $30. Its close proximity to much of the Lehigh Valley makes it as easy trip while still feeling like a little get away.

Happy Travels!
